Creating a Request - From an Uploaded PDF

Creating a Request - From an Uploaded PDF

Use this when the document you want signed doesn't come from a Frappe DocType at all - just a PDF you already have.

1. Start a new request

Open Frappe Sign Request -> New. Give it a title and leave Source Type as Uploaded PDF.

A new Frappe Sign Request: Request Title, Source Type (Uploaded PDF), Signing Mode

2. Attach the source PDF

Use the Source PDF field's attach button to upload the file.

The file attach dialog for Source PDF

Once it's uploaded, you can see and re-open the file directly from the form:

Source PDF uploaded and linked on the request

3. Add a signer

Add a row to the Signers table and link it to a Frappe Sign Profile (see Signer Profiles if you haven't created one yet). Save the request - it stays in Draft until you open the Designer and place fields.

A saved Draft request with the source PDF and one signer added

4. Place signing fields

Open Frappe Sign -> Open Designer and place at least one Signature field - see The Signing Designer for the full walkthrough. Status moves to Prepared once fields are saved.

5. Send it

Once you're happy with the fields, send the request - see Sending a Request & the Signing Portal.
