Cancelling a Request

Cancelling a Request

A signing request can be cancelled while it hasn't concluded yet - while its status is one of:

Draft
Prepared
Sent
Viewed
Partially Signed

A request that's already Completed, Declined, Expired, Cancelled, or Failed can't be cancelled - those are all terminal states.

Who can cancel

  • A Frappe Sign Manager (or System Manager) can cancel any not-yet-concluded request.
  • A Frappe Sign Sender can cancel a not-yet-concluded request they created.

How

Open the request and use Frappe Sign -> Cancel Request - available for every non-concluded status, including a request that hasn't even been sent yet:

The Frappe Sign menu on a Draft request, showing Cancel Request

You'll be asked to confirm:

Confirmation dialog:

Any signer rows that hadn't yet signed or declined are marked Skipped, cancelled_on is recorded, and a Cancelled event is appended to the request's audit trail:

The request after cancellation: status Cancelled

Next: see how completed requests can be independently checked - Validating Documents.
