Migration problems

Capture the complete traceback and identify the failing patch. Restore the pre-upgrade backup before repeatedly testing destructive corrections. Do not trim retired columns until migration patches have completed.

bench --site your.site.name migrate
bench --site your.site.name doctor

Review Patch Log and Error Log after correction.
