# Contract of Employment

A **Contract of Employment** is the actual employment contract document - employee details, remuneration, and the assembled contract text, generated from a **Contract Type** template and its **Contract Section** clauses.

## Building one

- **Company** and **Letterhead** - which entity and letterhead the contract is issued under.
- **Employee Details** - pulled from the linked Employee, plus the RSA ID/Passport number and address.
- **Remuneration** - a **Remuneration Type** (a Contract Section, e.g. "Hourly with Shift, Safety and Telephone") and the actual rate.
- **Contract Type** - the template this contract is built from (Period-based, Project-based, or Indefinite - see **Contract & HR Setup Reference**), which determines whether it has an expiry at all.
- **Has Expiry** - whether this specific contract is fixed-term. Fixed-term contracts feed the weekly Contract Expiry notifications (see **Weekly Notifications & Reports**) - narrowed to each recipient's own Branch Limits.

Once signed, attach the executed copy under **Signed Contract of Employment**.
